Snippets of the redo

We are about 70% done with the bedroom redo.  The 1st pic is a close up of the ledge I mentioned previously. The 2nd pic is of 2 beaded sconces I found at Marshalls.  You can stick a votive in the back for a glow, but who the hell wants to dig behind there with fire each time they want some ambiance? I will probably leave as is, or buy a couple of those battery operated candles.  I thought they were pretty and different. Still working on the whole bedding/curtain stuff.  The 3rd pic is a print I found on Etsy.  I saw it in gray and yellow, but asked her to change it up a bit to match my new lamp.  She whipped it up with my color choices in no time.  Her name is Rachel, and she was a doll to work with.  Her site is Apple Blossom Print  & you can shop HERE .   Check out ALL of her stuff!  Then there is the new lamp I pounced on at HomeGoods, and a close up of the sconce.

Hunter and Prey

I almost purchased these Cole Haan aviators a while back on another site.  They were a really good price ($39.99), but I resisted.  While on my usual “hunt” @ TJ Maxx, I just found them for $19.99. Score! Stores like TJ’s, Marshalls, and Homegoods are not for everybody.  Thanks to my mom, I am aware of the steals you can snag if you go often, and REALLY sift through.

Chocolate…yes,always.

I saw Cynthia Sass on Martha recently. She was explaining why we should eat 70% cocoa dark chocolate EVERY day.  Sounds like my kind of plan!

Here are just a few of the reasons her site mentions:

Compared to milk chocolate eaters those who downed dark chocolate ate 15% fewer calories without even trying and reported fewer cravings for sweet, salty and fatty foods.
Dark chocolate contains magnesium, a mineral that can help alleviate PMS symptoms, including cramps, water retention, fatigue, depression, and irritability.

Irritability and fatigue ? I have no idea what these words mean. I am always calm and energized.  Ha, I wish!  I bought a bar of Lindt Excellence @ Homegoods ($1.99).  I really enjoyed it! Can’t say that I didn’t exceed the daily allowance though. Baby steps, right?
