Sinful

After school today, the kids and I are making something totally sinful.  I will hate myself around 9pm when I peel back that plastic wrap for , “just another taste.”  Whatever! We could all use a little more sweetness, right?  I’ve spent a lot of time lately reflecting on how we all treat each other.  I find that I am shaking my head CONSTANTLY.  Why do people make such horrible decisions?  Mean. Ugly. Selfish.  Yeah, let’s just throw caution to the wind and screw those around me…..really?  I was reading an article about people who have gone through terrible moments, but channelled their anger and sadness into acts of paying it forward.  I love PAYING IT FORWARD.  I admit that I have been too caught up in my own life to practice what I preach lately.  One of the women in the article was wallowing in self-pity, so she decided that she wouldn’t decorate her tree until she did more for others.  Each time she did something like, leave an envelope on a windshield with some money, she would add an ornament to her tree.  Before she knew it, her tree was full!  Let’s do it!  Paying it forward doesn’t have to be about money, but it is something we should all strive to do more of.  Let’s be more attentive to those around us…help when you can. Ok, now back to the dynamic duo of caramel and chocolate.

Halloween Treats

I haven’t had much time to do anything well lately. I’m too busy juggling a thousand things, along with trying to reinvent this blog (cringe). The technical stuff is taking years off my life, but I am rolling with the punches.  I need 2 days to MYSELF to regroup. Ok, I will even take 2 hours! Here are 2 ideas that you could whip up fairly quickly for your kiddos as a last minute Halloween surprise.  I didn’t make the melted witches yet (SO cute), but I will put in my arsenal for next year.  I did make the pudding graves for a pumpkin painting party we threw.  I found the idea on Pinterest & had to give it a go.

Just chocolate pudding, with crushed chocolate cookies for dirt on top, stick a Milano cookie in it, write RIP. And, BAM, you’re done.
